About the Role
Business Development
The Key Account Manager – Aerospace is responsible for driving strategic business growth by
securing new and existing customer orders, expanding the RFQ pipeline, onboarding new part
numbers, and ensuring timely execution of RFQs, FAIs, and contractual obligations. The role
demands strong tracking, data-driven decision-making, and seamless collaboration with
internal teams to deliver on customer commitments.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Win targeted annual business by acquiring new customers and growing existing accounts,
with specific line item and revenue targets.
- Build and manage a robust RFQ pipeline with real-time tracking and detailed loss
analysis on Smartsheet (MIS software).
- Selectively pursue RFQs that meet the minimum line item average while maintaining strong
documentation and transparency.
- Lead timely execution of FAI part numbers annually, ensuring contract reviews are
initiated and live progress is closely monitored.
- Adhere to contractual terms and timelines for pricing settlements related to raw
materials, logistics, duties, and other commercial elements.
- Maintain an organized, live repository of contracts and NDAs with complete traceability
using Smartsheet.
- Drive continuous learning, personal growth, and professional etiquette as part of
performance improvement.
Financial Accountability:
- No exclusive financial accountability.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in Business Development or Key Account Management, preferably in
the Aerospace sector.
Technical & Professional Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of Aerospace RFQ & quotation processes, including lifecycle
management.
- Understanding of FAI (First Article Inspection) processes and AS9100 Rev D
documentation.
- Expertise in costing, pricing, and settlement of raw materials like Titanium, Inconel,
etc.
- Proficiency in Smartsheet or other digital tracking tools for RFQ/FAI management and
reporting.
- Understanding of commercial contracts, NDA structures, and CRM tools like Salesforce,
Zoho, or HubSpot.
- Strong skills in root cause analysis, RFQ loss tracking, and data reporting.
- Knowledge of international logistics, export documentation, ITAR/EAR compliance, and
Incoterms.
- Basic financial acumen including revenue targets, pricing models, and budgeting.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, CNC machining, and aerospace-specific
requirements.
